Phase 2 LRC Operations: Open for Safe, Distanced Study

by Alison Rollins on 2020-07-30T12:14:34-04:00 in [Access] USU | 0 Comments
The LRC is open to those of the USU community who need a quiet place for individual study.

To ensure safe distancing, we've measured and marked seating throughout the library and made it available to book online. Please visit our homepage at https://usuhs.libguides.com/home to see what seats are available. Seat reservations are required no matter when you enter the LRC (exceptions for those with assigned offices inside the library or who are performing cleaning or maintenance).

You can book a study space at home, on your mobile phone, or on-site using a workstation at our front desk. Cleaning supplies are provided to sterilize work surfaces and masks are required except while seated. Patrons are invited to take "study breaks" on the LRC's second floor garden patio, weather permitting.

If you have any difficulty registering for a seat, please drop us a note with the "Ask LRC Staff" button on our homepage. Most access issues can be resolved within a business day.

The LRC is staffed 0800 - 1600 M-F. If you want to use the LRC outside of those hours, on weekends, holidays, etc, make sure you've registered your CAC with USU Security. This will allow you to scan yourself into and out of the library even when our staff are not on duty.

Registration is available once a week, on Tuesday afternoons from 1400-1500 at the tunnel Security window. Please visit https://usuhs.libcal.com/appointments/CACReg to schedule a registration appointment. CAC registration generally takes ~5 minutes.

The LRC will be upgrading our seat scheduling program this week to offer a wider selection of seats. Please do not be alarmed if the appearance of our reservation page changes over the next few days.

Finally, although the LRC is lightly staffed on-site during Phase 2, we continue to provide instruction, ILL, document delivery, and reference support online. If you can not find the resource you need, our staff are available during the day via chat or using the "Ask LRC Staff" link.

If you have any questions, please contact the LRC at lrc.ref@usuhs.edu.
