About the LRC

The Learning Resource Center strives to support scholarship and facilitate healthcare education at the Uniformed Services University. In pursuit of this goal, the LRC provides world-class and world-wide access to current, comprehensive, and historical medical information sources; educates users on the most efficient research methods, resources, and management; facilitates users’ technology experiences; and preserves and provides access to University scholarship.

Mission

The James A. Zimble Learning Resource Center (LRC) supports the Uniformed Services University, the readiness of America’s Warfighter and the military community by providing comprehensive world-class and world-wide access to current and historical military medical information sources. The LRC supports the University’s current scholarship and learners through efficient research methods and tools, education, bibliometrics, and first-rate technology experiences; facilitates cutting-edge, military-relevant research and academic writing, and preserves the legacy of the University’s impact.

Vision Statement

By the end of 2026, the LRC will

  • Continue to provide comprehensive access to information resources for the USU community,
  • Expand our staffed services supporting faculty, staff and students, and
  • Support greater public access to, and awareness of, research and scholarship produced at USU.
